They gave a great tour and history of nearby landmarks and the dogs in addition to answering our questions about the dogs and dogsledding in general. The Ritz-Carlton Vail was fun for the children. They enjoyed roasting marshmallows (which you can get at the bar) at the fire pit, making snow angels, and building a snowman.
Sweet Basil, tucked away in Vail Village, provided a nice dimly lit atmosphere in the evening. The staff were professional and friendly. The menu had a variety of selections which included seasonal and unique flavors. For instance, the lobster bisque was sweeter than any other bisque I had tasted at other restaurants. Vail Village was quite a treat! It reminded me of a village seen in a snow globe. The quaint village is filled with shops and restaurants. There is a little something for everyone. I truly enjoyed walking around the village both day and night to just gaze at the wonders of Christmas. Masks are mandated.
The Thompson Family had a magical 2020 Christmas vacation in Vail, Colorado. The Ritz-Carlton Vail property was truly beautiful.
