Our family was in for a treat as we were able to explore the Acropolis and actually behold the historical sites which we had learned so much about in the past. Greek history and mythology is quite interesting. The pictures do not do it justice. It is very windy. Wear comfortable shoes, be patient, and plan to stay a while to behold the beautiful architecture. Visitors in wheelchairs are escorted via a separate entrance with a lift. We were fortunate to see the Temple of the Goddess Nike and temples where Poseidon and Athena were worshipped. The Parthenon is amazing! We also visited the stadium where the Olympics were held in 1896 and 2004. Game runners reportedly ran from Olympia which is 4.5 hours away passing the torch until they arrived at the stadium. The Arch of Hedron was another stop on our tour.
What a wonderful blog! Very informative, great tips for tourists and the photos are to die for! Splendid!
Thank you so much, Sam!
